Fellowship

Mallers & Swoverland is also a teaching facility for physical therapists to complete a fellowship program with the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists (AAOMPT).

PT’s throughout the country have different opportunities to pursue continuing education. One option is to go thru formal, rigorous didactic course work and practical instruction and examination and earn a certification in orthopedic manual physical therapy. These therapists who complete these programs have been trained in further clinical reasoning skills for more detailed evaluation, exercise prescription, and manual skills.

Some therapists then choose to go a further step and pursue clinical fellowship hours with a clinical instructor. The AAOMPT standards are essentially 11 weeks of clinical patient care with an instructor and the need to pass further examination criteria. This fellowship training of PTs from across the country is unique in the area from any other practice, creating a high level, collaborative environment for our therapists.
